Fees and rebates
Fees
Clinical session fees
Fees for a standard 50 minute session range from $235 to $315 per session depending on your clinician’s level of experience. Medicare or private health fund rebates may apply.
All clinical psychology services are exempt from GST. Payments are made on the day of consultation by cash, EFTPOS or credit card.

Additional clinical services
Commencing 1st January 2024 additional clinical services such as:
- liaison with schools and teachers
- letters to support insurance
- letters to employers and universities
- legal and letters to employers and universities
These clinical services will be billed and completed when requested and are considered essential for good clinical care. Your clinician will require your agreement of these actions before they proceed. These fees are in keeping with those recommended by the Australian Psychological Society.
As a standard part of your therapy sessions, your clinician will continue to provide:
- communications with your general practitioner/referrer
- responses to short emails and calls (less than 15 minutes)
- treatment planning and preparation
- scoring and interpretation of clinical measures
Assessment fees
Fees for ADHD, autism, specific learning disorders (like dyslexia and dyscalculia), intellectual disabilities, educational and giftedness assessments vary from $400 to $2075 based on the type of assessment and individual needs.
Medicare rebates are generally available only with a referral from a psychiatrist or pediatrician for individuals under 25 years of age
Assessment fee deposit
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the cost of the assessment is required to secure your assessment appointment. Whilst deposits are non-refundable they are used towards payment of your appointment. We appreciate your understanding as this policy allows us to best manage and maximise our psychologists’ time and availability for all clients
Referrals
A referral from your general practitioner, paediatrician or psychiatrist is required to access Medicare rebates for clinical psychology sessions.
If you plan to use private health insurance for your treatment, you do not need a referral.
Rebates
Medicare

A mental health care plan is completed by your general practitioner and provides access to Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual sessions and 10 group therapy sessions per person, per calendar year . These sessions can be conducted face-to-face or via online therapy.
Your referring general practitioner will schedule a return visit to review your progress after the first six psychological therapy sessions. At this point, your general practitioner will provide a re-referral for an additional four sessions, if required.
From 01/07/2024 to 30/06/2025 Medicare will rebate:
- $141.85 per standard consultation with a Clinical Psychologist
- $96.65 per standard consultation with a Clinical Psychology Registrar
- $36.00 per 1-hour group consultation with a Clinical Psychologist
- $49.05 per 1.5-hour group consultation with a Clinical Psychologist
- $66.65 per 2-hour group consultation with a Clinical Psychologist
Medicare rebates may be claimed on the day of your consultation.
