What happens after your child’s assessment

Once your child’s assessment is complete, you’ll receive a comprehensive report detailing the findings and recommendations. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Reviewing the Results: Our clinicians will invite you to schedule a meeting with you to go through the assessment report. During this meeting, we will explain the results in detail, answer any questions you may have, and discuss the next steps.

2. Actionable Strategies: The report will include practical, strengths-based recommendations tailored to your child’s specific needs. These strategies are designed to support your child’s development at home, in school, and in other settings.

3. School Provisions: The assessment report can be a valuable tool in securing necessary accommodations and support within the school system. This may include individualised education plans (IEPs), curriculum adjustment plans (CAP), or other educational accommodations to help your child succeed academically and socially. Some children may be eligible for school-based educational funding.

4. NDIS Funding: For eligible families, the assessment report can assist with accessing National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding. The assessment report can provide the necessary documentation to support your application for NDIS funding, which can help cover the cost of therapies, interventions, and other supports your child may need.

5. Ongoing Support: Our clinic is committed to providing ongoing support to your family. We offer follow-up consultations, therapy services, and resources to help you implement the recommendations and continue supporting your child’s growth and development.

Understanding the next steps after an assessment can help you feel more confident and prepared to support your child. Our goal is to ensure that you have the knowledge, tools, and resources you need to help your child thrive.
